More About Sherman

Sherman Cheong familyBorn in a traditional Chinese family, Sherman was brought up conservatively and inculcated with asian values. But his exposure to westernised education and varied career paths later influenced his design style—fusing both the East and West.

After graduating with a Electronics Engineering diploma Sherman served as a military officer in the Singapore Air Force for 8 years. During which he took up a part-time diploma course in Visual Communication majoring in Graphic Design at the Lasalle-SIA College of the Arts.

Upon graduating the course, he had already left the military and worked as a Visual Merchadiser and Graphic Designer in an advertising agency for a total of four years. That was in early 2004.

The passion for design, coupled with his technical savviness and the discipline and maturity molded in the military spurred Sherman’s learning, improving his skills rapidly despite the short years in the design arena.

When not designing, he enjoys watching DVD movies with his lovely wife and son in their cosy little TV room. :)
